USB Drives Advancing with Leaps and Bounds
If you've purchased a USB jumpdrive, flashdrive, USB key, or whatever you would like to call it in previous years, you may have realised something strange in the market as of late (well pretty much for the last year).
Exactly, two years ago, I purchased a SanDisk USB drive with a capacity of 256 MB for $40-50. Today, retailers like, Canada Computers carry Kingmax USB drives for $30. Not far from the pricing two years ago, except for one seemingly small detail, the drive can carry 8 GB of data; that's 32 times the amount of data of the two year old sandisk.
Following the market of computer technologies and especially USB drives, I've seen a dramatic drop in prices and an amazing progress in capacity and performance. Along with being many times larger, the Kingmax USB drives are all Vista Ready Boost Compatible, signifying that they have above standard read/write capabilities which also assures the purchaser of a good find.
So whether you need small capacities of 1 GB at around $10, or if you need a whopping 16 GB for $49.99, now is the time to buy one before the lack of oil drives up their prices. Just kidding, although if you want real power, think of getting the 16 GB Rally 2 from OCZ tecnologies at just around $45 after mail in rebate.
